This policy explains what MenDoing collects when you use mendoing.com, why we collect it and what you can do about it. We keep it simple and we do not sell your information.
What we collect
We collect only what we need:
- Event reservations: your name, email address, the event and number of spots. Payment is handled by PayPal. We receive an order ID and confirmation, never your card number.
- Newsletter signup: your email address, so we can send event alerts.
- Contact form: your name, email address and the message you write.
- Site usage data: through Google Analytics, such as pages viewed, device type, browser and approximate location (see Cookies and analytics below).
- Photos and video: taken at events (see the Waiver).
How we use it
- To confirm reservations and send you event details.
- To send event alerts and updates if you signed up for them.
- To answer your questions.
- To understand how people use the site and make it better.
- To keep events safe and the site secure, and to meet legal obligations.
Payments
Payments are processed by PayPal, including card payments made through PayPal. PayPal collects and handles your payment details under its own privacy policy. MenDoing never sees or stores your full card number.
Cookies and analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 to see how visitors use the site. It sets cookies or similar identifiers and records things like pages visited, time on site, browser and rough location. This data is used in aggregate to improve the site. PayPal may also set cookies when you use its buttons at checkout. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and you can opt out of Google Analytics with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. The site works if you turn cookies off, though PayPal checkout may not.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with services that help us run MenDoing, such as PayPal (payments), Google (analytics), our web host and our email delivery provider. We may also share it if the law requires, or to protect the safety of our members. Hosts of an event may be told your name and that you are attending.
Photos and media
If you attend an event, photos or video may be used on our site and social media. If you prefer not to appear, tell the organizer at the event or email us, and we will do our best to respect that and to remove images on request.
How long we keep it
We keep reservation records as long as needed for accounting, safety and legal reasons. Newsletter emails stay on the list until you unsubscribe. Contact messages are kept as long as needed to deal with your request.
Your choices
- Unsubscribe from alerts at any time by emailing us.
- Ask what personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct or delete it, by emailing info@mendoing.com.
- Limit cookies through your browser settings.
Security
We take reasonable steps to protect your information, but no website can promise perfect security.
Children
MenDoing is for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
