Please read this carefully. It affects your legal rights. By reserving a spot and checking the agreement box, you accept it.
Who this covers
This waiver is between you and MenDoing, its owner, organizers, volunteers, hosts and the venues and property owners where events take place (together, the “Released Parties”).
Age requirements
You must be 18 or older to take part in MenDoing events. For events where alcohol is served or included, you must be 21 or older. You confirm that you meet the age requirement for any event you book.
Assumption of risk
MenDoing events include hands-on activities such as garage and shop work, tools and equipment, fishing and boats, cooking with fire and heat, builds, outdoor outings and tours. These carry real risks, including cuts, burns, falls, strains, insect or animal contact, weather exposure, damage to property, serious injury and, in rare cases, death. Risks can come from the activity, other people, the equipment, the venue or your own actions. You understand these risks and choose to take part anyway.
Equipment and tool safety
- Use tools and equipment only as shown, and ask if you are unsure.
- Wear the safety gear you are told to wear, such as eye and ear protection or gloves.
- Do not use any tool or machine you are not comfortable with.
- Follow the instructions of hosts and organizers. Stop at once if asked.
- Tell the host about any hazard you notice.
Alcohol
Some events serve or include alcohol, such as a beer at a brewery tasting. You must be 21 or older. Drink responsibly and know your limits. Do not use power tools, drive or do any risky activity after drinking. You are responsible for getting home safely, so plan a ride. We may stop serving anyone or ask someone to leave if we think they are unsafe.
Your health
You confirm that you are physically able to take part and that you have no condition that would make taking part unsafe. You are responsible for telling the organizer about anything we should know, and for deciding what you can safely do.
Release of claims
To the fullest extent allowed by Texas law, you release and agree not to sue the Released Parties for any injury, illness, death, or loss or damage to property connected to your attendance or participation, including claims based on ordinary negligence. You also agree to cover your own medical costs. This release does not apply to claims the law does not allow to be released, such as gross negligence or intentional harm where Texas law forbids a release.
Indemnity
To the extent allowed by law, you agree to be responsible for any damage you cause to property or to other people through your own actions at an event.
No guarantee of results
MenDoing does not promise any particular result, skill gained, catch, finished project, tasting outcome or experience. Instruction is shared in good faith by members and hosts, who are not licensed professionals unless stated.
Photo and media release
You give MenDoing permission to take photos and video of you at events and to use them on its website, social media and promotional material, with no payment to you. If you do not want to be photographed, tell the organizer at the start of the event or email info@mendoing.com. We will respect that and remove images on reasonable request.
Code of Conduct
You agree to follow the Code of Conduct.
Emergencies
If you need medical help at an event, we will call emergency services. You agree you are responsible for the cost of any treatment or transport.
If part of this is not valid
If any part of this waiver is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. This waiver is governed by Texas law.
Your agreement
By checking the box and reserving a spot, you confirm that you have read this waiver, understand it, are signing it voluntarily and are giving up legal rights. Questions before you book: info@mendoing.com.
